Everything was excellent and the drinks are everything! They aren't playing any games. You getting drunk! Don't pay wit it, lol

They're not kidding when they say in their website they don't water down their drinks. That Old Fashion was loaded! Had the fried wings whole and the app sampler. The wings are great with a great tasting rub on them and they're massively huge so you definitely won't go hungry at Stan's. They're potato skins we're one of the best I've had with nice thick bacon. Service was excellent and attentive and one of the waitresses was even dancing while walking back and forth since the music made for a great ambience. Definitely pretty loud which was nice and chaotic at the same time. Loved that you needed to go down stairs to get in.

We came here off a recommendation. They said it was a "dive bar". I am not sure what dive bars are in other places but I wouldn't classify this place as a dive bar. When we arrived the place was jammed packed and seemed to be a huge long wait list. However the staff was on top of it and got our name down and got us in, in about 25 minutes. The wait was worth it. The drinks are STRONG. They basically bring you a glass full of booze with a side chaser. Well worth the $$. The food was great. A lot of people ordered the fried chicken. We didn't but still was pleased with our choices. The atmosphere was great. It's tight in the restaurant so you end up talking with your neighbors. This place must be pretty well known as it seems some famous people were seated around us. Great spot. I would recommend

It's been yearssssss since I've been to Stan's, at least 10. The quick, short service, the ambiance, the food, the seasoning on the chicken, the crispiness of the chicken, the heavy pours!! Everything is exactly how I remembered and I love that for Stan's. Please don't change! We got there around 8pm on a Friday (August 2024) and took the last 3 seats at the bar. Prepare for a wait.

I just literally don't see anyone else have catfish and wings so BIG AND JUICY. I wish I could have taken these back to Texas with me. Everything was so good!! I will say that the place on itself is a bit tight and you have to walk down stairs in order to get to it, and it's a bit dark. However if you appreciate a bar vibe in the heart of DC, you'll enjoy it!

I have lived in DMV for 30+ yrs and I have always heard about Stan's - especially because of the strong drinks- but not a big drinker so I guess that's why I never made a point to go ‍. Well this is truly a DC Gem, and glad friends and I decided to meetup here. The drinks lived up to their reputation, I had a rum punch and while it was red, I didn't taste any punch lol, and I cost even finish it, but again strong drinks ain't my thing, but if it is yours you will not be disappointed. They are known for their wings, and I saw they had chicken and waffles and I love breakfast so had to get it. The waffle was amazing, light crisp on the outside soft and sweet on the inside, I love sweets and this tasted like dessert, barely needed any syrup. They chicken and waffles how it should Be done with WINGS, and the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and my stomach is always pleased when the food lives up to the hype and the chicken was really good (8.7/10). The service was good, the food and drinks came out quick and the food piping hot which i appreciate. It was a Tuesday so it was full but not crowded, I have heard Thursday and Friday it can get crowded and it's relative small and quaint spot so plan accordingly. Looking forward to coming back, they have a large array of options and I am curious to try some other menu items.

Order: 10 wings, mumbo sauce, 2 old fashions Pros: this is the best chicken I have had in a while. It was fried hard, seasoned to perfection, and it was hot!!!! Yessuh the wings were good. Cons: I was not a fan of the mumbo sauce. But thats just me lol. The price of 2 old fashions with woodford was $47. Maddd crazy simply put. The drinks were good and strong though so not gona lie. Now the service from one of the waitresses was disappointing. She was rude when I said I wanted to sit at a high top. There was a medical reason.
